South Lyon Soccer Club Leagues
House League (U6-U8)
This league is made up of same age co-ed teams that play solely amongst each other within the South Lyon community. A player draft pool formulates new teams each fall and spring session. Players are entitled to play at least ½ of each game unless the coach has taken disciplinary action. Games are usually played on Saturdays at Bartlett Elementary School. Play is at the beginner/basic skill level. See the above flyer for more information.
Academy League (U6-U9)
This program is for those seeking a more intensive soccer experience. The program will include accelerated training by a National Youth Licensed Staff three-times a week. The coach/player ratio will be 1/10 or better. The league is made up of same age co-ed teams that play against House teams within the South Lyon community. Games are usually played on Saturdays at Bartlett Elementary School. Game Format is the same as the House League (see above). Coaches fees will be incurred at $220 per year. Additional costs are possible for indoor training and/or winter league participation. The Club reserves the right to change the format, if needed.
Recreation League (U9-U16)
Players are assigned to Recreation teams based on registration only. Players do not try-out for Recreation teams. Players are entitled to play at least ½ of each game unless the coach has taken disciplinary action. Teams are formed prior to the fall and spring seasons based on the number of registered players within an age group and whether a coach is secured. If there are more players registered then vacancies, then they will be sequenced according to the date of receipt of the registration form and fee. They could also be moved up to a higher age group. For the spring session, an attempt is made to keep teams from the previous fall season together. New players are placed in a draft pool for assignment to team vacancies or new teams could be formed if there are enough players and coaches. Late registrants will be placed on teams at the discretion of the SLSC Executive Board. If a player cannot be placed on a team, a full refund will be issued. Games are usually played on Saturday or Sunday afternoons. However, some after 6:00 p.m. weekday games are possible. Games are played at home and away against surrounding communities. Play is at the basic level.
Select League (U9 and up)
Try-outs are conducted in June, prior to the fall soccer season to determine the Select team rosters. If a player is chosen for a Select team, a one-year commitment is required. Skill level is intermediate to advanced.
Premier League (U13 and up)
Try-outs are conducted in June, prior to the fall soccer season to determine the Premier team rosters. If a player is chosen for the Premier team, a one-year commitment is required. Skill level is advanced.
