RELAX Program

RELAX, It's Just a Game!

The RELAX campaign is borrowed from Hockey Canada.  It is a program designed to keep the game in perspective for parents and spectators who put too much pressure on young players. This program focuses more on how ridiculous some parents sound when they pressure their children at play.

"What if kids pressured us the way we pressure them?" 

Would you stand behind your child in school while they are taking a test and shout the answers to them?  Then what makes it right to do it while they are playing?  And, PLAYING is the operative word here.

Here are some suggested/alternative words and dialogue for the sidelines:

"Very nicely done"
"Great job"
"Great effort"
"Good hustle"
Or better yet, just clap your hands and cheer!

Give it a try, you'll be amazed how much more enjoyable the game is.  And your child will thank you for because the game will be that much enjoyable for them too.

Besides do they ever listen to you anyway????
